Step 1: Remove the Current App Icon

This is like uninstalling a regular app, but the process is slightly different for a PWA added via the browser.

• On Android (using Chrome):

  1. Find the Olio group app icon on your home screen or in your app drawer.

  2. Tap and hold the app icon.

  3. A menu will pop up. Look for an option like "Uninstall" or "Remove" (sometimes it's a trash can icon you drag the app to).

  4. Tap the uninstall/remove option. You might be asked to confirm.

  5. Confirm to remove the icon and the associated PWA data from your device.

• On iOS (using Safari):

  1. Find the Olio group app icon on your home screen or in your App Library.

  2. Tap and hold the app icon until the icons start to jiggle.

  3. Tap the minus sign (-) or "X" in the top-left corner of the icon.

  4. A menu will appear. Select "Remove App."

  5. Another menu will pop up asking if you want to "Delete App" or "Remove from Home Screen." For a PWA added via Safari, you usually want to select "Remove from Home Screen" or "Delete App" depending on the iOS version and how it was added. "Remove from Home Screen" just takes it off the home screen but keeps it in the App Library; "Delete App" fully removes it. Choose "Delete App" for a clean "reinstall."

  6. Confirm the action.
      

Step 2: Add the App Icon Back to Your Home Screen

This is the "installation" part of the PWA. You do this through your mobile web browser.

• First, open your mobile web browser (Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS).

• Go to the portal.oliogroupmn.com for the Olio group PWA. (You need to know this URL).

• On Android (using Chrome):

  1. Once the Olio group PWA website is open in Chrome, look at the top of the screen.

  2. Sometimes, a banner or pop-up will appear asking if you want to "Add Olio group to Home Screen" or "Install App." You can tap that if it appears.

  3. If no banner appears, tap the three vertical dots (menu icon) in the top-right corner of the Chrome browser.

  4. In the dropdown menu, look for an option like "Add to Home Screen" or "Install app."

  5. Tap this option.

  6. A confirmation screen will appear showing the app icon and name. Tap "Add" or "Install."

  7. The icon should now appear on your home screen.

• On iOS (using Safari):

  1. Once the Olio group PWA website is open in Safari, look at the bottom of the screen for the browser's toolbar.

  2. Tap the Share icon (it looks like a square with an arrow pointing upwards).

  3. A share sheet will pop up from the bottom of the screen. Scroll down through the options.

  4. Look for an option that says "Add to Home Screen" (it usually has a home icon next to it).

  5. Tap "Add to Home Screen."

  6. A preview screen will appear showing the app icon and name. You can change the name here if you like.

  7. Tap "Add" in the top-right corner.

  8. The icon should now appear on your home screen.

After completing these steps, the Olio group mobile app (PWA) icon should be back on your home screen, functioning like a reinstalled app. Remember the crucial part is knowing the correct web address (URL) to visit in your mobile browser in Step 2.
